Girls' Generation's Yoona Becomes Final Member To Join Instagram
Another K-pop goddess has officially joined Instagram.
Im Yoona became the final member of Korea's top girl group Girls' Generation to open up an Instagram account. On Sept. 27, the singer-actress shared her first picture.
"Hi everyone," Yoona greeted her brand new social media audience with a picture.
Yoona's first update featured a picture of the idol with her fans and wished everyone a happy Chuseok, the Korean three-day harvest festival holiday that began on the 27th.
Ten hours after posting, YoonA's picture had received over 200,000 likes, and her account had over half a million followers.
Along with her first official photo, Yoona's account features a selfie of the singer.
Yoona is the eighth and final member of Girls' Generation to join Instagram. After opening her account, Yoonaimmediately followed the seven official Instagram accounts of the other Girls' Generation members.
Members of Girls' Generation began to open Instagram accounts last year, joining many other K-pop idols who interact with fans via the social media site.
Fans commented on Yoona's picture that they were happy to see YoonA join Instagram, and requesting more pictures of the K-pop idol.
Yoona debuted as a member of the SM Entertainment girl group in 2007, and quickly rose to fame for her beautiful appearance as the "center" of the group.
Along with pursuing a career as a singer, Yoona has considerable experience as an actress and variety shows. She has starred in multiple Korean television shows, and will appear in her first Chinese drama, Chinese Hero Zhao Zi Long" later this year.
Yoona is currently promoting Girls' Generation's "Lion Heart" album along with the rest of the members of Girls' Generation.
